CARLSON, Norman Ray - Of Burton, age 90, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family Monday, November 22, 2021.

Cremation has taken place and the family will honor his wishes and lay him to rest at Great Lakes National Cemetery at a later date.

Norman was born in Flint, Michigan on November 4, 1931, the son of the late Elmer Wilford Carlson and Clare Edith Anderson. On March 21, 1987, he married Carole E. Coffman in Flint. Norman was a member of First Presbyterian Church. Norman proudly served his country in the Army during the Korean War and his patriotism was always on display. Norman retired from the engineering division of Buick Motor Company in 1991 after 40 years of service. Anyone who knew Norm was aware of his love of all things University of Michigan. He served as an usher for both football and basketball games for decades. His happy place was The Big House where he and Carole proudly sponsored the stadium addition with an engraved brick near the one placed by Desmond Howard.

Surviving are wife, Carole;

Children, Barbara (Michael) Hayden, Carl (Girlyn) Carlson, Paul (Leah) Carlson, Eric (Rosa) Carlson, Chris Johnston, Scott (Mary) Coffman, Chad Coffman, Callie Coffman;

And blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Norman was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Roger Johnston.
