Melvin Tackett was born to the late Edith Marie Tackett on January 13, 1965 in Memphis, Tennessee. Tackett had a thirst for knowledge from University of Houston, Mott and the connections he made through conversation. A jack of all trades he knew a little bit about a lot of things. That’s how he could have a conversation with any and everyone. Melvin’s networking skills has allowed him to be the bridge of many opportunities for his community. Always there to listen, make jokes or use an accent to lighten the mood. I think everyone experienced him that way. He helped so many people, never asking anything in return. His genuine concern for people, humor and overall presence will forever be missed. Melvin enjoyed music, photography, making people laugh, spending time with others and serving Jehovah. Melvin Lived an adventurous life with many travels and professions. He was a passionate man who played many roles: father, husband, brother, uncle, manager, partner, mentor, student and a friend. He will be missed dearly. Above all else, Melvin loved Jehovah. Melvin leaves in Jehovah’s care: daughters, Alexis Tackett or Houston, TX and Desire Tackett of Phoenix, AZ; 3 sons, Jeremy Tackett of Dearborn, MI, Chris Tackett and Blair Koger of Flint MI; 4 sisters, Ella Fergerson and Linda Jones, both of Detroit MI, Paula Tackett-Seay and Jessica Tackett, both of Flint MI; 10 grandchildren. Nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Special friend, Gordon Strozier. Melvin was preceded in death by brothers, Larry and Carl Tackett. |
