SPERRY, Robert Earl – of Davison, age 92, passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2025. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 1 PM Monday, January 27, 2025, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 N. Dayton Street, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski celebrant. Interment, with Military Honors, will be 11 AM Tuesday, January 28, 2025, in Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Road, Holly, MI 48442. The family will welcome visitors from 1-7 PM on Sunday, January 26, 2025, at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, MI 48423. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the Mass on Monday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. A Rosary will be prayed at 6 PM on Sunday at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or LaVigne Home, in Earl’s memory.
Earl was born in Detroit, MI on June 9, 1932, son of the late George and Collette (Trent) Sperry. Earl proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1952-1954 during the Korean War. He married Mary Ann Stack on September 21, 1963. Earl was a graduate of the University of Detroit. He was a technical writer for various automotive and defense companies. In his spare time, Earl enjoyed bowling, golfing, gardening and playing softball with friends. He was a member of the St. Francis Men’s Club.
Earl is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Mary Ann; children, Sharon (Bill) Bloom and Darryn Sperry; grandchildren, Jake (Alana) Bloom, Will Bloom and Dominic Bobbet; great-grandchildren, Brody, Hudson, Kellin, Gibson, and Hailey Bloom; siblings, Michael (Jane) Sperry and Phyllis Beaudry; and many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Richard Regan, Dolores Christe, Mary Ann Stanton, Francis Sperry, and David Sperry.
