WEISSERT, Yvonne M.– Of Flushing, age 96, died Saturday, November 20, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her family.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church, 4133 Calkins Road, Flint, Father Pierre Bassil officiating.
Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Visitation 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
Mrs. Weissert will be at the church from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the Mass.
Yvonne was born in Flint, Michigan on September 30, 1925, the daughter of the late Ivan and Anna (Sherum) Humerickhouse.
She graduated from Flint Central High School Class of 1943.
On March 14, 1945 she married Norman L. Weissert and they were married 47 years until he passed in 1992.
She was a member of Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church along with the Altar Society and sang in the choir for many years. She was also a member of the McLaren Ladies Auxiliary.
She enjoyed reading, baking, gardening and spending time with her family.
Yvonne was employed by Brides World for many years.
Surviving are children, Carol M. Ketchem of Solsbery, IN,
William R. Weissert of FL, Janice B. (Lee) Fuller of Flint,
Mary Jane (Jay) Bean of Clio and
James (Roxanne) Weissert of Flushing;
12 grandchildren, Jennifer, Jeffrey, Erin, Keri, Kyle, Erica, Stacie, Tyler, Christopher, Heather, Karen and William;
many great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman and brother, Ronald Humerickhouse.
