PIRKER-FRUEHAUF, Norbert – of Swartz Creek, MI, age 66, passed away Thursday, August 6, 2026. Cremation has taken place and no services will be held.
Norbert was born in Villach, Carinthia, Austria on March 2, 1960, son of Norbert and Liselotte (Zezula) Pirker-Fruehauf. He found joy in life's simple pleasures and embraced every opportunity to spend time doing what he loved. Norbert had a passion for riding motorcycles, casting a line while fishing, and tinkering on projects in his garage, where he was always happiest with a tool in hand. A lifelong fan of classic rock, he enjoyed listening to the timeless music that provided the soundtrack to so many of his days. He rarely missed an old Western on television and was an avid reader of Western novels, especially those written by his favorite author, Louis L'Amour. Whether on the open road, by the water, or immersed in the pages of a good book, Norbert lived with a quiet appreciation for adventure, hard work, and the enduring values of the American West.
Norbert is survived by his wife of 36 years, Deborah Pirker-Fruehauf; 2 children, Erich (Jessica) Pirker-Fruehauf and Anna Pirker-Fruehauf; 2 grandchildren, Elodie and Lorelie; parents, Norbert and Liselotte Pirker-Fruehauf; 3 sisters, Gabrielle (Ron) Hanschmann, Helen Acedo and Liselotte (Sam) Shabander; brother, Fred Fruehauf; lifelong friend, Jeff Conner; many other loving family members and good friends.
