GRANTNER, Gerald – of Burton, MI, age 84, passed away on April 21, 2025. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to FOR-MAR or do something nice for someone.
Gerald was born in Flint, MI on December 14, 1940, son of the late Steve and Beverly (Rogers) Grantner. He married Joyce Lounsberry on December 29, 1962 in Howell, MI. Gerald was a proud graduate of Holy Redeemer, Mott Community College, Michigan Tech and Michigan State University. He was a proud believer in community service, worked for the State of Michigan and served on many local boards. Gerald was known for his quick wit, incredible memory and loved to share his vast knowledge of jokes and limericks. He loved all animals and being outside taking care of his lawn. Gerald was a proud Spartan and passed that love down to his family. GO GREEN!
Gerald is survived by his wife, Joyce; children, Stephanie (Scott) McQueen, Mary (Tim) Naranjo, Amy (Kanario) Okoroafo, Jennifer (Bob) Zuniga and Thomas (Christine) Grantner; grandchildren, Briniti (Joseph), Cymone (Jim), Megan (Jake), Emily (Tyler), Nick, Hannah (Jess), Bobby (Rebekah), Obinna, Isabelle, Drew and Ben; several great grandchildren; siblings, Diane (Jim), Marsha (Harry), Mark (Sally), Steve (Barb), Patty (Craig), Susie (Tim) and Kathy (Ed); many other loving family members and friends.
