Mr. Lewis Henry Smith was born May 31, 1943 in Marvell, Arkansas the son of Williams Smith and Eula Boyd (Ward). He relocated to Gary, Indiana until relocating to Flint, Michigan in the 70’s. where he joined General Motors Corporation's workforce. He was a member of UAW Local 599 until he retired. He enjoyed watching sports, talking to his siblings, being outdoors, playing a couple numbers, coming up on a couple of “Dineros” and hearing from his baby girl Shasta Monique. Lewis passed away August 6, 2021 and leaves to cherish in memory his daughter and protector, LaShasta “Shasta Monique” Smith Cobb of Atlanta, step daughter Shameka Thomas of Flint ,Mi., 2 grandkids Kai Davis and Lai Smith of Atlanta, 6 step grandchildren all of Flint Mi, 6 grandkids of Long Beach, CA, 5 brothers Will (Denise) Smith of Gary, Ind., Clifton (Ruth) Smith of Dallas, Tx., Hamblin Ward of Gary, Ind., Michael (Wendy) of Atlanta, Ga., 7 sisters, Mary Black of Houston, Tx., Laretta Johnson of Mesa, AZ., Sharon (Cleties) Welch of Suffolk, Va., Tracy Ward and Martha Lacy both of Gary, Ind. A host of other friends and family especially, Chris Pullom and Brenda Thomas. We would like to express special thanks to McLaren-Flint and nurses Brian and Sommer. His daughter would also like to thank Tegan Brown for taking care of and checking on her daddy when she relocated. Lewis was preceded in death by his parents Williams Smith and Eula Boyd (Ward) son Dwayne Taylor, brothers Charles Smith, Johnny Smith, Herbert Smith, sisters Claudesta Brooks and Denise (Ward) Roberts, and Diane Ward
