CORNING, Donald C.– Of Flint, age 87, always the consummate storyteller, got his voice back on May 23, 2022 when he entered Heaven’s Gate.
Don’s life will be celebrated with a Memorial Service at Resurrection Reformed Church, 5225 Calkins Road, Flint, at 2pm on Saturday, June 4, 2022.
Don was born in Flint, Michigan on November 8, 1934, the son of the late Glenn and Gladys (Martin) Corning. He retired after 30 years at General Motors Engineering. Don was the President of the Flint Community Players for 3 years. He was also Chairman of the Board of Directors for the American Diabetes Association. Don cherished spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed swing and ballroom dancing and antique and classic cars.
Surviving are wife, Dolores Corning;
Children, Denise O’Neal, Dan (Sherry) Corning and Dana Corning-Angst (Butch);
5 Grandchildren, Christi, Cara, Megan, Ryan and Joe;
4 Great-grandchildren, Devin, Kaia, Emerson and Lexi.
He was preceded in death by his son, Doug, parents, and brothers and sisters.
Those desiring may make contributions in Donald’s name to the American Diabetes Association.
