Paul James Czajka Obituary
Paul was born on November 12, 1956 to Bob and Kay Czajka at Holy Cross hospital in Detroit, Michigan. His family moved to Clear Lake Ranch in Gladwin, Michigan in 1964 and he lived there until 1999. He managed and maintained the property after his father retired in 1982.
He was an athlete and ran and competed in many types of foot races for decades. He hunted and fished and was an avid outdoorsman. He was an accomplished chef and many remarked that the food he served was better than at any restaurant.
Paul lived in East Tawas from 2004 until his death in 2021, after a fierce, brave and difficult fight with ALS. There he maintained the property upkeep for his beloved cousins, Lanette and Scott Van Wagenen. He loved the Tawas area; he loved Lake Huron, the forests, trails, and sailing with his best friend, Brenda Brugger. In Tawas he spent a lot of time with family; cooking, hosting and enjoying all of them, as they did him. Tawas was home to him and Michigan was beloved.
Paul followed in the footsteps of his father, in both his chosen trade and in his natural and immense skillset. Paul was a man of many talents and interests; curiosity was a motivating trait. He was a self-taught man who could repair anything. He was the family’s go-to person for questions about most everything; what he didn’t know he “Googled” and then never forgot.
Paul actively and lovingly participated in the care of his beloved mother during her last years. He was a loving and faithful son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend to many.
Paul is survived by his siblings; Robert Edwards, Nancy Solecki, Mary Jo Czajka, and Deborah White as well as numerous nieces and nephews and his best friend Brenda Brugger. Words cannot express the void that will be felt by so many with his passing.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be directed to Michigan League of Conservation Voters, www.michiganlcv.org. Online condolences may be offered at www.bureshfuneralhome.com |
