WITHERS, Lee - age 65, passed away September 20th, 2022 at her home in Flint. A Memorial Service will be held 4 PM Sunday, September 25, 2022 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd, Davison, MI 48423. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service at 3 PM. Memorial contributions will be collected for a scholarship fund for Lee’s “adopted” granddaughter Mackenzie Ball.
Born April 22nd, 1957, to Alice Schwartz, Lee dedicated her life to bringing love and light to every person she met. Whether you were family, friend, acquaintance, or just working a store counter, she put a smile on your face and a song in your heart. Creativity abounded in every aspect of her life, where she was an accomplished baker, seamstress, and hairstylist. Her family was her everything, and loved kids so much that all of her two children’s friends became her surrogate children as well. In her many years working at the Kearsley High School library, she managed to adopt hundreds more. No child was without a mother when Lee Withers was around. She gave of herself freely, endlessly, and asked nothing in return. If you were in her hands, you were safe and cared for; if you were in her life, you were loved.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Jim, her son Adam and daughter-in-law Comfort, her granddaughter Mackenzie and the Ball family, her mother, Alice, many nieces and nephews, her two puppies, and basically the rest of the town. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Amy and her brothers Bud, Jon, and David. Her beloved father-in-law, Bill, waited for her to go first so she could show him the way; he never would have found the place himself.
