NELSON, Nancy Lou – of Clio, age 76, died Monday, November 9, 2015 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Thursday, November 12, 2015 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12-8 PM and on Thursday from 12Noon until time of services at 1 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Thetford Senior Center.
Nancy was born April 3, 1939 in Flint to the late Harvey and Marcella (Wilhelm) Newton. She married Robert L. Nelson on September 13, 1958 in Millington. He preceded her in death on February 13, 2005. She had resided in Clio for the last 52 years. Nancy was a dedicated and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed playing cards, coffee at the Senior Center and taking road trips to the casino. Nancy retired from St. Joseph Hospital in Flint in 1993.
Surviving are: 5 Children: Robert (Raedene) Nelson Jr. of Vassar, Dora (Steve) Riley of Millington, Carolyn (Dennis) Ratza of Clio, Rhonda (Mark) Kroll of Vassar, Brian (Linda) Nelson of Clio; 8 Grandchildren: Lee, Aryn, Autumn, Cassie, Derrick, Alissa, Vanessa and Garett; 7 Great Grandchildren: Jack, Kellan, Asher, Cody, Jordyn, Cameron and Zane.
