FRANKLIN, Gregory Stephen - Of Genesee Township, age 77, died Saturday, December 9, 2023 at McLaren-Flint.
Funeral service will be held 2pm Saturday, December 16, 2023 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Rev. Rex Ray Dela Peret officiating.
Cremation will take place following the service.
Contributions may be made to the Genesee County Humane Society or the American Cancer Society.
Visitation 11am Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Gregory was born in Toledo, Ohio on October 19, 1946, the son of the late Wilbur F. and Victoria M. (Szeman) Franklin. On October 23, 1965, he married Karen Burwell at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Gregory loved to garden, draw, cook, baseball and football. He also loved animals. Gregory was a family man that enjoyed traveling to the North and the Upper Peninsula for family camping trips. He was always a great provider. Above all else, Gregory was a good husband, father, grandfather, and brother.
Surviving are wife, Karen;
daughter, Jennifer (Frank Inman);
grandson, Samuel Franklin;
siblings, Charlene Franklin and Bradford Franklin;
brother-in-law, David Burwell;
and nephew, Kevin (Sonja) Burwell.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, Douglas Franklin, nephew, Jason Beckman, sister-in-law, Darlene Rockwood and brother-in-law, Douglas Burwell.
