Phyllis A. Van Eckhoutte age 92 of Bancroft, passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at Pleasant View in Corunna. There are no services at this time. Cremation has taken place. Arrangements are being handled by Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, Durand Chapel.
Phyllis Ann Asselin was born February 5, 1930 in Flint, daughter of Aldebert and Helen (Koeisk) Asselin. On September 24, 1945 she married Lewis Van Eckhoutte. Phyllis enjoyed playing on her tablet, reading, western movies, old country music, her dog, Meka and spending time with her family. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed by Mesa Lutheran Hospital for 28 years as a dietitian in food service.
Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Dawn (Larry) VanNewkirk; grandchildren, Jason, Terry, Tiffanie, Vanessa, and Eric; great grandchildren, Austin, Connor, Alyssa, Seth, Warren, Jake, and Ian; and brother, David (Julie) Asselin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Van Eckhoutte; sons, Scott and Rodney Van Eckhoutte; and grandson, Jeremy VanNewkirk.
