PORN, John Charles - Age 83, of Davison, passed away Thursday, March 25, 2021. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Monday, March 29, 2021 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 4413 Morrish Rd, Swartz Creek. Fr. Louis Ekka celebrant. Burial in Glenwood Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, Sunday from 1-4 and 6-8 PM where a rosary will be prayed Sunday at 7 PM. Visitation will also be 10AM Monday until time of mass at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church or the Marine Corp League Flint Detachment 155. John was born on July 2, 1937 in Little Falls, NY the son of Lawrence and Elizabeth (Fitzgerald) Porn. He received his Bachelor and Master Degree in Science from the Michigan State University. John proudly served in the United States Marine Corp until his honorable discharge in 1959. He worked for the Flint Police Department as Sergeant and was the Chief Sergeant of Arms for the State of Michigan House of Representatives. John and Mary Earle were united in marriage on April 11, 1959 in Flushing. He was a member of the Moose Lodge 1437, Marine Corp League Flint Detachment 155, Moose Legion and Knights of Columbus 4th degree. Surviving are: his children, Patrick (Denise) Porn of Grand Blanc, Charles (Haley) Porn of Mattawan, and Jacqueline (Larry) Carrier of Davison; 7 grandchildren, Jennifer (Lance) Wildman of Swartz Creek, Christopher (Haley) Porn of North Carolina, Johnathan (Brittany) Carrier of Davison, Angela (Mark) Eberline of Northville, Sean Carrier of Davison, Colin Porn of Mattawan, and Garrett Porn of Mattawan; 6 great grandchildren, Lilly, Everly, Jaylyn, Sophie, Emerson and Miles; 3 brothers, Larry Porn, Robert (Sue) Porn and Bernard (Therese) Porn; and several nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Porn; parents, Lawrence and Elizabeth Porn; grandson, Jon-Miguel Porn; brother, James Porn; and 2 sister-in-law's, Shirley and Judy Porn.
