CORLEW, John – of Mt. Morris, age 86, passed away on October 13, 2023. A Funeral Service will be held 1 PM Thursday, October 19, 2023 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Pastor Robert Taylor officiating. Interment will take place following the service in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 10:30 AM to 1 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
John was born in Gladwin, MI on July 28, 1937, son of the late Julius and Nellie (Combs) Corlew. He married Jacquline March on October 7, 1967. John retired from General Motors in 1989 after 30 years of service. He then worked for several years at Spooner Metals LLC. John enjoyed hunting and carpentry. Later in life, he spent many days in the “barn” with his four-legged-friend, Mollie. John had a giving soul and loved to help others in their time of need.
John is survived by his wife, Jacquline; children, Mike (Pam) Corlew, Tammy (Bobby) Kirbitz, Lisa (Brian) Cavett, and Brenda (Brian) Wolodkin; 14 grandchildren, Amy, John (Laura), Clay, Robbie (Jessica), Haley, Stephen (Heather), Kyle (Sue), Autumn, Jakob, Austin (Kassidiae), Brian II, Barry, Brittiany (Irina), Bethanie; 21 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild, siblings, Wayne, George (Caroline), Merrill (Carla), Dale (Anita), many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by son, Gordon; grandsons, David and James; siblings, Lester, Kenneth, Ann Smith and Vern.
