GARFI, Vito V. - Of Flint, age 93, passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at his residence.
A private funeral services are being held.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Shriner's Children Hospital and Shriner's Transportation Fund.
Vito was born in Newburyport, Massachusetts on June 25, 1927, the son of the late Joseph Sr. and Effie (Beal) Garfi. Vito served in the United States Navy. He came to Michigan in 1955. Vito retired from General Motors in 1986 after 31 years of service. He was a member of the Swartz Creek Masonic Lodge #458 and Elf Khurafeh Shriners.
Surviving are children, Kathryn and husband Richard VanDette, Joseph and wife Mary Ann Garfi, and Victoria Jancar;
14 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Opal, daughter, Mildred Sharber, great-grandson, Anthony Garfi Jr. and son-in-law, Stephen Jancar.
