ELLIOTT, Donald F. – of Flint, age 81, passed away on February 6, 2024. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Genesee United Methodist Church, 7190 N. Genesee Road, Genesee, MI 48437. Pastor Ryan Walker will officiate. Family will receive visitors from 12:00 PM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rock Steady Boxing Mid-Michigan, 2205 Jefferson Ave, Midland, MI 48640.
Donald was born in the family home located in Buckley, MI on February 6, 1943, son of the late Ford and Erma (Ruf) Elliott. He married Pamela Gray on September 4, 1965 in Vassar, MI. Don was a graduate of Central Michigan University. He worked different places, but he found great joy in working with the employees and buyers as the general manager at the Auto Salvage Auction in Davison. Don enjoyed collecting International Harvester tractors, traveling, and taking drives to see tractors and visit ice cream shops. He was especially proud that he had traveled to all 50 states, most of the provinces and Paris. Don loved the family dogs, most recently Maggie Mae and Rocky. After a Parkinson’s diagnosis, he found motivation through his workout partners and Coach Stacey at Rock Steady Boxing, a gym dedicated to those with the same diagnosis. Don was a proud believer and active member of Genesee United Methodist Church (United in Christ UMC). His greatest love was for his family, especially his grandchildren.
Donald is survived by his wife, Pamela Elliott; children, Troy (Valarie) Elliott, Matthew (Jill) Armentrout, Alyson (Jeff) Lischka, Mitchell Armentrout; grandchildren, Austin Elliott, Mark Armentrout, Emma Armentrout, Charles Armentrout, Lily Armentrout, Evan Lischka; brother, Mike Elliott; a son through foreign exchange, Takuya Kamei; sister-in-law, Linda Gray, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mark and Mardean Armentrout; sister-in-law, Debra Elliott; brother-in-law, Lynn “Bill” Gray.
