McIntosh, Velma Joyce, of East Lansing, formerly of Flushing, age 93, died Saturday, September 23, 2023, at her residence. Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Velma was born in Flint, Michigan on December 15, 1929, the daughter of Arleigh and Iola (Coleman) Beebe. She grew up in Flushing and attended Flushing Schools. Velma married Russell McIntosh on November 11, 1950, in Flushing. They lived in the area until 1978, when they moved to Charlevoix, where they owned and operated Superior Sanitation Service, retiring in 1988.
Velma is survived by her son, Terry (Sue) McIntosh of Perry; daughter, Jacquie McGriffin of Jacksonville, Florida; granddaughters, Michelle (Kenny) Maust; Stephanie McIntosh; great-granddaughter, Hazel Maust; cousins; nieces and nephews; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell; parents; sister, Maxine Green Heuck; brothers, Lee Griffin and Wes Beebe.
