JOZWIAK, Jack Howard – Age 75, passed away unexpectedly on May 6, 2023 at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing Michigan, surrounded by his family.
Funeral service 2 p.m. Friday, May 12, 2023 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, Reverend Harold K. Polk, Jr. officiating
Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery with military honors.
Visitation 11 a.m. Friday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Jack was born November 8th, 1947 to Leonard and Phyllis Jozwiak in Flint, Michigan. He met his future wife JoAnn Wheatley in 1965 before enlisting in the United States Marine Corps at the age of 17, later stationed at Camp Lejeune and Camp Pendleton reaching the rank of E-4 Corporal. After his military service he went on to be a loyal employee at General Motors in Michigan and Ohio manufacturing locations for more than 30 years before retiring in 2006. His lifelong love of cars and hotrods followed him into retirement where he spent many hours working on his 9 vintage cars. During his retirement Jack and Joann were active in the Mid-Michigan Street Rod Club and enjoyed traveling to car shows throughout the Midwest, and he was an avid pistol shooter at the Chief Okemos Sportsman’s Club. Throughout his lifetime Jack was an amazing father to his 3 sons Jimmy, John, and Steve and he especially enjoyed being a grandfather to his 4 grandchildren.
Jack is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years JoAnn, children James Jozwiak of Dayton, OH, John Jozwiak (Cynthia Jozwiak) of Bristol, WI, and Steven Jozwiak (Che' Jozwiak) of Lansing, MI; grandchildren Melissa and Allison Jozwiak, and grandchildren Kaytlin and Jackson Adams; and brother Joel Jozwiak.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents Leonard and Phyllis Jozwiak, and brother Terry Jozwiak.
