Frances was born in Greensboro, Alabama on November 9, 1928, to the union of Brooks and Frances (Epps) Collins Sr. Frances’ education was through Hale County High School in Greensboro, Alabama. She married her high school sweetheart Wallace Eugene More Jr. They later relocated to Flint, Michigan. Upon their arrival they had hopes and dreams of making a better life, with the grace of God they were able to extend helping hands to many families and friends in relocating to Flint. Hence, from their union 3 beautiful, dedicated, and successful children were born. Frances was a homemaker until her youngest child was old enough to attend school; being a strong advocate of education she began a career as a teacher’s assistant with the Flint Board of Education at Martin elementary school and retired in 1995. Frances loved to read thus putting great emphasis on reading to her children, grandchildren, along with her nieces, nephews, and all that she met.

Some of her many attributes were cooking, especially baking. She loved great tasting food, shopping and was known for her fashion statements with red being her favorite color. Frances enjoyed listening to inspirational and gospel music. She confessed Christ at an early age she was a faithful member of Metropolitan Baptist Church where she was a dedicated member until her health started failing her.

She leaves to cherish sweet memories 3 devoted children, Dora (Lester) Morse-Robinson, of Lorton, Virginia, Wallette Morse-Williams, and Gary Morse of Flint; grandchildren, Lester L. (Melissa) Robinson, II of Alexandria, Virginia, and Brooke N. (LaChristopher) Robinson-Lewis of Winchester, Virginia; great-granddaughter, Laila Lewis; brother, Denard (Mary) Collins of Flint; special son-in-law, Barry Williams of Flint; brothers-in-law, Jack (Elizabeth) Morse and Roland Morse of Flint; sisters-in-law, Marion Collins of Flint, Brenda Collins of Akron, Ohio, Brenda Peoples of Mt. Morris, Michigan, Ruby Morse of Newport News, Virginia, Lonnie Morse of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; god-daughters, Tina Wright and Debbie Milling; special friends, Mr. and Mrs. Trouser, Cora Hawk, Nana Graham, Martha Hill, and Juanita Flowers; a host of nieces and nephews.

Frances was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Wallace Eugene Morse Jr., parents, Brooks and Frances (Epps) Collins Sr; 6 brothers and 3 sisters.

The family wishes to express thanks to Pastor George Wilkinson and The Word of Life Christian Church and the Nurses and Aides of Heritage Manor.
