TUCKER, J. “Chip” - Of Fenton, age 66, passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at his home surrounded by his devoted family.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00am on Friday, December 30, 2022 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Parish, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton 48430, with Father Robert Copeland officiating.
Visitation will be held from 4:00pm-8:00pm on Thursday, December 29th at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. Visitation also 10:00am Friday at church until the time of the Mass.
Chip was born in Flint, Michigan on June 23, 1956 the son of the late Earl Scott II
and Jean Betty (Lauger) Tucker and later raised by Carol Tucker after Jean’s death. He attended St. John Vianney School and was a faithful member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Fenton. Chip married Victoria Gerhard on February 12, 1992. Chip was a successful Genesee County business owner for over 45 years. He raised his daughters on Lake Fenton and loved the water. In his free-time he was an avid bowler and golfer and loved a good cigar. Chip was a family-man, an animal lover and the best papa. He made fast friends of everyone he met with his great sense of humor and his infectious laugh.
Surviving are his wife, Vicky Tucker;
Daughters, Brooke Tucker and Cristi (Todd) Lanning;
Granddaughters, Harper and Natalie Lanning;
Parents-in-law, Carol (Rich) Naegelen and Rick (Carolyn) Gerhard;
Sister-in-law, Alison (Hank) Preisel-Austoff;
Brothers-in-law, Scott (Ryan) Gerhard;
Loving nieces and nephews, Megan and Molly Priesel, Corey (Aimee) Tucker, Scott Tucker, Greg Tucker and Kristi Tucker;
Several great-nieces and nephews;
And many other loving family and friends.
Chip was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Scott II and Jean Betty Tucker; mother-in-law, Martha Gerhard; brothers, Timothy Tucker, Earl Scott Tucker III and Buddy Tucker; niece, Nikole Mullen; and best friends, Perry Preisel and Joseph Androsky.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. John the Evangelist Catholic School in Fenton.
