BOLANOWSKI, Irma Elda - Of Flint, age 96, died Saturday, April 12, 2025.
Funeral service will be held 1pm Thursday, April 17, 2025, at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Pastor Dan Bowman officiating.
Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to your favorite charity or Hospice Homes of Genesee and Lapeer Counties.
Visitation 4-8pm Wednesday and 12noon Thursday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Irma was born in Port Hope, Michigan on September 25, 1928, the daughter of the late William and Martha (Smitdh) Kessel and was a resident of the Flint area most of her life. She married Alex Bolanowski on November 15, 1947, and he preceded her in death on November 20, 2004. Irma was employed with Hurley Hospital as a seamstress. She enjoyed quilting, cooking and babysitting her grandchildren
Surviving are children, Sandra and husband Thomas Downer of Indian River, and Vincent of Swartz Creek;
grandchildren; Katrinia (Rob) Veprauskas and Ryan (Jamie) Marks;
great-grandchildren; Brandon Benson, Cody Benson, Dakoda (Shannon) Marks, Aiden Veprauskas, Colton Veprauskas;
great-great-grandchildren Athena and Hope Benson;
many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Arthur, Herman, Arnold Harold and Walter Kessel, sister, Vera Stinson, grandson, Brandon Bolanowski.
