Age 68, of Mt. Morris, passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at home with family by his side. In accordance with Richard’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial gathering will take place from 3:00pm to 7:00pm on Friday, December 26, 2025, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services, 1194 East Mt. Morris Road, Mt. Morris, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be considered to Adopt-A-Pet Inc in Fenton. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family on Marc's tribute wall at martinfuneralhome.com.
Richard Marc Fender was born on April 28, 1957, in Richland, Washington, the son of Mr. Richard Fender and Ms. Laura (Ayling) Fender. Educated locally, Marc graduated from Clio High School, with the class of 1975. He worked as a route salesman for Aunt Millie’s for nearly 30 years before his well-earned retirement in 2017. On March 31, 1979, Marc met, fell in love with, and married the love of his life, Penni Mae Roster, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Flint. The two were blessed with two sons, to whom Marc cherished deeply.
Marc was gifted with many technical skills that he would use around his home. Completing many “Marc Jobs,” he would build various pieces of furniture and decorations, renovate different areas in his home, and fix anything that needed some work. He and his wife would frequently go camping at various campgrounds throughout Michigan, enjoying their time outdoors and taking in the beautiful scenery. He would also spend a lot of time in the kitchen cooking and creating new experimental dishes for him and his family to enjoy together. In his free time, he enjoyed kicking back in his recliner and reading Sci-Fi novels, listening to classic rock music, and watching football. Most of all, Marc enjoyed creating new memories with his family and spending as much time with them as possible.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 46 years, Penni Fender; his two sons: Kyle and wife, Tiffany Fender, Cody Fender and girlfriend, Bree; grandchildren: Aiden, Austin, Ahna’Vae; mother: Laura Fender; sister: Lisa Smith; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Marc was preceded in death by his father: Richard Fender; and many furry companions including: Jaxon, Cooper, and Buster. |
