Leroy Wagner

Born: 4/18/1940
Died: 1/8/2022
Age: 81
Community: Clio, MI

Wagner, Leroy D. – of Clio, age 81, lost his battle with cancer on Saturday, January 8, 2022, and died at home surrounded by his family who adored him. Due to the COVID pandemic funeral services will be private. A Celebration of Life where we can all gather to remember Leroy, tell stories, and play cards is planned for the summer of 2022 at his residence. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Habitat for Humanity, where Leroy volunteered his services, or the American Cancer Society.

Leroy was born April 18, 1940, in Flint, Michigan to the late Martin and Hazel (Globig) Wagner. He married the love of his life and partner in all projects Karen Vickerman on August 6, 1976. They spent 45 wonderful years together planning and executing mystery trips, building/remodeling projects, hand and foot tournaments, and annual family gatherings at the cabin on the island at Sage Lake. Leroy was a machine repairman for General Motors, contributing to the success of first Buick and then GM Powertrain in Flint. He apprenticed under his father Martin, and then trained many apprentices himself. Leroy could build and repair anything and left his mark on the family through numerous home improvement projects. He never missed a band concert or sporting event for his children and grandchildren. Before Google, those who knew Leroy were never stymied because a phone call to him would result in the answer. It seems that the man knew just about everything.

Surviving are: Wife, Karen Wagner: Children Lee Anne (Don) Visci, Jill (Stuart) Harlin, Jeff (Kelly) Wagner, Wayne (Terry) Wagner, Shelley (Tony) Anderson: Grandchildren: Katharine Visci, Elizabeth Visci, William Harlin, Scott Harlin, Sarah Wagner, Ashley Wagner, Derek Wagner, Kameron Wagner, Kayla Fratrick, Jeremy Fielder, Andrew Fielder. Leroy also leaves his brother Stacy Wagner of Mississippi and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Keith Wagner.
