JEWELL, Grace Louise, "Louise" of Clio, Michigan, age 94, passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2021. Louise was born in Battle Creek, Michigan, February 21, 1926. She graduated from Port Huron Business College and used that degree for her office manager/secretarial jobs throughout the years.
She married Rowan Clarence Jewell on August 29, 1947 in Otisville, Michigan. She was a member of the Mt. Morris Free Methodist Church. Louise loved and enjoyed spending time with her family, playing the piano and singing, teaching Sunday School, and greeting visitors in her church, entertaining and hosting bible study groups in her home, traveling, as well as floral arranging and water color painting. She often shared her experiences as a pastor's daughter over the years. She will be greatly missed by her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Clarence L. and Grace M. Gibson, sister Ruth Kinney, brother Donald Gibson, beloved husband Rowan Clarence of 52 years, granddaughters Anna Zimpfer, and Sarah Smith, and grandson Luke Jewell, niece Shelia Ranley, and nephews Daniel Root and Donald Gibson, numerous brother and sister in laws, and dear friend Alex Nickolof.
She is survived by her four children, Judith (Gary Zimpfer), James (Michele) Jewell, Ruth (Mark) Smith, Sherry (Rob) Gillespie;
9 grandchildren, Darline Olds, Lyndee Larsen, Jenifer Kilpela, Laura Johnson, Joey Jewell, Maris Ekleberry, Heather Gillespie, Jason Gillespie, and Lisa Michaels and their spouses;
21 great grandchildren, Spencer and Carson Olds, Anneli, Sylvia and Martin Kilpela, Emmiline and Henry Johnson, Emmett Jewell, Jada, Jack, Earl, Charlie, Richard, Billy, Lucy and Victor Ekleberry, Logyn, Dakota, and Koltyn Sebert, Onna Gillespie, and Rowan Gillespie-Michaels;
4 great grandchildren Swayzii and Marshall Sebert, Kentyn Sebert, and Rowen Zuehlke;
sister Rachel Root, sisters in law Shirley Gibson and Ann Roy, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends during Visitation Hours on
Friday, February 5, 2021 from 6pm-8pm and Saturday, February 6, 2021 from 10am-12pm at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 W. Hill Road, Flint, Michigan 48507. Due to Covid-19 and government regulations, only 25 people will be allowed in the chapel at one time. Mask, group capacity and distancing guidelines must be practiced.
