MCCREADY, RUTH M. - Of Grand Blanc, age 88, died Thursday, January 23, 2025 at The Pines of Goodrich.
Funeral service will be held 1pm Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Pastor Bob Scott officiating.
Visitation 11am Tuesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Those desiring may make contributions to Faith Lutheran Church.
Ruth was born in Flint on January 30, 1936, the daughter of the late Frank and Margaret Voakes. On April 10, 1953, she married Robert McCready. Ruth retired from General Motors after 30 years of service. She was the founder and former queen of the Grand Blanc chapter of the Red Hats Club. Ruth enjoyed spending time up north at her Higgins Lake cabin. She was a former member of Faith Lutheran Church.
Surviving are children, Bob Jr. McCready, Debbie Marshall, and Vicky (Lou) Muckenthaler;
grandchildren, Joshua Gould, Kelly (Dave) Genzlinger, Tiffany Wilson, Melanie McCready and Brittany Marshall;
great-grandchildren, Samantha, Ashley, Alexis, Dylan, Jack and Kennedy;
great-great-grandchild, Jarad;
sister, Irene Case and brother, John Paul Voakes;
and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert McCready and grandson, Joshua.
