NELSON, Edward Earl – Of Clio, age 74, died Saturday, July 3, 2021 at The Pines of Burton.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 8 2021 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 11804 South Saginaw Street, Grand Blanc, Father Bill Wegher officiating.
Cremation will follow the Mass and burial at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, MI at a later date.
Those desiring may make contributions to a charity of one’s choice.
Visitation 2 p.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
Edward was born in Flint, Michigan, on August 28, 1946, the son of the late Joy I. (Hart) and Edward C. Nelson.
On April 12, 1969 he married Jeanette Fuller at Sacred Heart Church in Flint.
He was a member of St. Francis and Clair Parish in Birch Run, MI. Edward was a lifetime member of the American Legion, VFW, DAV, VVA and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a volunteer at the Veterans Hospital in Saginaw, MI.
Edward was a machine operator at GM in Flint, MI.
Surviving are wife, Jeanette H. (Fuller) Nelson;
son, Edward J. and wife Tina;
daughter, Cristal J. and husband Steve Rousseau;
grandchildren, Aaron Nelson, Ashley Nelson, Alison Rousseau and Anna Rousseau;
brothers, Les (Doris) Nelson, Rodney (Polly) Nelson and Gary (Dawn) Nelson;
sisters, Gloria (Frank) Rozsa and Vicky (Keith) Fritzler;
sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Lisa (Brian) Miller, Larry (Kim) Okolish, Bill Fuller and Carolyn (Ray) Canfora;
several nieces and nephews.
