HAWLEY, Iva Irene - Of Burton, age 100, died Sunday, October 16, 2022 at Lapeer County Medical Care Facility.
Funeral service will be held 1pm Friday, October 21, 2022 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Pastor Sarah LaRose-Nettell officiating.
Private burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or a charity of one’s choice.
Visitation 4-8pm Thursday and 10am Friday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Iva was born in Grand Blanc, Michigan on November 22, 1921, the daughter of William and Julia Streeter, and was a resident of the Flint and Burton areas all of her life. She was a member of Calvary Community Church and UAW Local 651. She belonged to the Red Hat Society. She loved to bake - especially cookies and zucchini bread. Mrs. Hawley was employed by AC Spark Plug Division for 30 years, retiring in 1974. She was also a member of BPOE Flint Elks Club, Lodge #222.
Surviving are daughters, Linda and husband David Fairchild of Rochester, Michigan and Kathryn and husband Michael Petriken of Davison, Michigan;
3 Grandchildren, David A. (Mandy) Fairchild, Brian (Jayna) Abraham and Brandon Abraham;
5 great-grandchildren, Gavin Abraham, Elliott Abraham, Caiden Abraham, Emmery Abraham and Preston Abraham;
and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband T.J. (11/7/2000), brothers, William Streeter, Andrew (Buck) Streeter and Alvin (Curly) Streeter and sisters, Ida Mae Jeffers, Lila Kurchczyk, Wilma Gorski and Sylvia Dibble.
A special thank you to the nurses and especially the CNA’s at Lapeer County Medical Care Facility for all of their care and compassion.
