FIKE, Virginia J. – of Davison, MI, age 87, passed away Thursday, February 8, 2024. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Shane Bengry officiating. Entombment immediately following the service in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 3-7 PM Monday, February 12, 2024 and 10-11 AM Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Davison Free Methodist Church, in Virginia’s memory.
Virginia was born in Flint, MI on February 7, 1937, daughter of the late Wilfred J. and Martha J. (Peel) Hazen. On April 18, 1959, Virginia married Walter F. Fike in Flint, MI and he preceded her in death on February 15, 2023. Virginia was a member of Davison Free Methodist Church. She started her career at General Motors Buick Motor Division and left for a brief time to start her family. With a passion for early childhood education, she served as the director of Calvert Park Community Church of God and Central Baptist Church Daycare Centers for over 15 years. Virginia later worked for almost 20 years as the Administrative Assistant at the Davison United Methodist Church. Virginia enjoyed reading and spending time at the family cottage. She also cherished time with her family.
Virginia is survived by her daughter, Nancy A. Fike; son, James F. (Jamie L.) Fike; 2 granddaughters, Sophia L. Fike and Cordelia L. Fike; nephew, Gary (Anne) Hazen; niece, Lisa (Craig) Smith; 4 great-nephews, Aaron (Jordan) Hazen, Kevin (Courtney) Hazen, Peter Smith and Jacob Smith; sister-in-law, Wilma “Kay” Hazen; many other loving family members and good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilfred and Martha Hazen; husband, Walter F. Fike and brother, Edward A. Hazen.
