GIFFORD, Judith I. "Judy" - of Montrose, age 84, died peacefully on Friday, February 28, 2025, at Maple Woods Manor of Clio, surrounded by her family. Honoring her wishes, cremation will be taking place. A Celebration of Judy's Life will be held at 2PM Saturday, March 8, 2025, at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose. Jeffery Glann officiating. Inurnment to follow in Montrose Township Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Saturday from 10AM until the time of service at 2PM. Memorial Contributions may be made to Carter Elementary School in Montrose.
Judy was born November 1, 1940, in Flint, Michigan, to the late Leonard and Mildred (Phillips) Ealy. She graduated from Montrose High School in 1959. On July 22, 1961, Judy married John Gifford, Jr., at Montrose United Methodist Church. They enjoyed many happy years together before his passing on December 19, 2020. In her earlier years, she worked at Bell Telephone and later became a beloved playground supervisor with Montrose schools for many years before retiring. Judy loved camping and attending her grandchildren's sporting events and activities.
Surviving are: Son, Mark (Debbie) Gifford; Daughter, Suzanne Gifford; Grandchildren: Ashley Gifford and Luke Gifford; Sister, Bonnie Adams; Brothers: Jim (LaVonne) Ealy, and Jeffrey (Tammy) Glann; Best friend, Trudy Crandall. Judy was also preceded in death by: Parents: Leonard and Mildred Ealy; Step-Father, Merton Glann; Brother-in-law, Robert Adams; Sister-in-law, Thelma Brown.
