Mark W. Gibbs of Flushing, age 56, died Saturday, February 1, 2014, at his home. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 4, 2014, at Flushing Community Church of the Nazarene, 9500 W. Pierson Road, Flushing. Pastor Terry Bate will officiate. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday at Rossell Funeral Home and 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church until time of the service.
Mark was born in Flint, MI on July 30, 1957, the son of Philip William and Beverly Jo (Roach) Gibbs. He married Dorie Lueker in Presque, MI on August 8, 2008.
Mark graduated from Northern Michigan University. He worked in Materials Management at Delphi. He then was a medical assistant with the Visiting Physicians in Bay City. He was an avid fisherman and duck hunter and loved being outdoors in all seasons. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited. He loved boating, especially on Saginaw Bay and in the Sebewaing area. He was a big University of Michigan fan. He was a member of the American Legion Unit #293.
Mark is survived by: his wife, Dorie; children, Alexis and husband Brandon Horton of Chesaning, Philip Gibbs of Lansing, Mackenzie Gibbs of Clare; step-children, Allan Hadland of the US Army, Fort Polk, LA, Allana and husband David Boynton of the US Air Force, Offutt AFB, Alex and wife Malysa Hadland of Davison; grandchildren, Brittany, Emily, Addison, Bryce, Conner, Layla and Max; mother, Beverly Gibbs of Sebewaing; sister, Stacy and husband Dr. John Sullivan of Linden; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father.
