Darwin Lee Cosand, age 84, of Flint Michigan passed away at Genesys Hospital on Thursday May 25th, 2023.
Darwin was born in Flint, Michigan on November 26, 1938. Darwin was a wonderful and brilliant man and father who was loved by his family and friends, and will be dearly missed. Darwin won third place in the very first Flint Science Fair he built a Robot that walked and talked. Darwin was very talented and built a replica 1901 Oldsmobile Car which he would often give rides to the neighborhood children. In addition, he also presented his car in Back to the Bricks event.
For a number of years, he lived in Florida where he owned and operated a machinery business. Darwin's faith was very important to him and he enjoyed making wooden carved crosses to pass out to others. He was a faithful member of Lighthouse Baptist Church.
Darwin leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 5 years Pat Oaks; Daughters Vickie (Brooke) Childers; Cheryl Stevens; grandchildren Peggy(Mike) Martin; Amanda (Mike) Helms; Bradley (Jessica) Cosand; Aaron Saye; Crystal (Andrew) Lynch; Brooke Childers; Cortney Gordon. Nephew Jason (Samantha) Madison and family. Great grandchildren Megan, Jordan, Luke, Lucas, Logan, James, Liam, Zachary, Maya, Maria, Kayde, Emma.
Darwin is preceded in death by his wife Nancy Cosand, son Craig Cosand, son in law Ricky Stevens, mother Mable Foster, father Dearl Foster, brother Nigel Cosand, and sister Lisa Guiney.
A memorial service will be held for Darwin on Thursday, June 1st, 2023 at 2 o'clock pm at Light House Baptist Church, 5458 Fenton Rd., Flint, MI 48507
