Joseph Sumner LePard, born on December 7, 1937, in Goodrich, Michigan, passed away on October 4, 2025, at the age of 87. Residing in Grand Blanc, Michigan, Joe was known for his active and dedicated lifestyle.

Joe completed all 12 years of school at the Perry Center and went on to college, driven by his passion for baseball. It was during his college years that he met Joan, who would become his beloved wife. The couple married on August 13, 1960, and recently celebrated 65 years of marriage. Together, they raised four children, sharing a love for sports and creating lasting family memories.

Joe's career spanned over 30 years with General Motors, where he was deeply committed to his work. It was not unusual for him to work seven days a week, a testament to his dedication and enjoyment of his job. He retired from General Motors in 1996, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and commitment.

In his retirement, Joe continued to indulge in his love for sports, playing and watching baseball, and spending time golfing and fishing with friends. He and Joan enjoyed trips to Kalkaska, Michigan, often accompanied by friends, where Joe and his friend Ron would engage in fishing adventures, including ice fishing. Joe and Joan owned property in Hilton Head, South Carolina and vacationed there during the winter for over 20 years.

Joe was also a devoted member of his community, actively participating in activities at St. Christopher's Church. He volunteered for various events, including the Palm Sunday spaghetti dinner, and lent his time to the Buick Open, held at Warwick Hills Country Club.

Joe is survived by his wife, Joan LePard, and his children: Catherine LePard of Los Angeles, Timothy (Theresa) LePard of Wixom, Jennifer LePard of Minneapolis, and Michael LePard of Grand Blanc. He also leaves behind grandchildren Diana (Robert) Gantt and William (Abbe) LePard, great-grandchild Violet Gantt, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his young son, William, his parents, Sumner and Clara LePard, his sister Judy LePard, his brothers Robert and James LePard, his in-laws Charles and Gladys Russell, and many family members and friends.

Joe's active spirit and dedication to his family, work, and community will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
