VANDESTEENE, Maureen Jacqueline (Morrow) – of Davison, MI, age 93, passed away Monday, May 3, 2021. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 12 PM Friday, May 7, 2021 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 North Dayton Street, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski celebrant. Interment immediately following the Mass in Smith Hill Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 4-7 PM Thursday, May 6, 2021 and 11 AM-12 PM Friday, May 7, 2021 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. A Rosary will be prayed 6 PM Thursday, May 6, 2021 followed by a Memorial Service under the auspices of the Daughters of Isabella Regina Coeli Circle #1095 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, please pray for me and have Masses said. Mass cards will be available at visitation.
“Jackie” was born September 24, 1927 in Flint, MI, daughter of the late Walter and Kathryn (Tucker) Morrow. She married Robert K. Vandesteene on January 17, 1945 in Flint, MI and he preceded her in death on October 11, 1996. Jackie was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church where she also sang in the Resurrection Choir. She was employed with General Motors, working at AC Spark Plug for 5 years. Jackie also played the organ at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Otisville, MI for 30 years. She was president of the 50 and Over Club at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, a member of the Daughters of Isabella Regina Coeli Circle #1095 and the Blue Army of Our Lady of Fatima.
Jackie is survived by 8 children, Dianne (Jim Haywood) Hayes, Ronald (Linda) Vandesteene, Catherine Martin, Robert, Jr. (Cindy) Vandesteene, Ellen (Mark Bourassa) Wigard, David (Kim) Vandesteene, Richard (Cori) Vandesteene and Daniel (Kelly) Vandesteene; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Kathryn Morrow; husband, Robert K. Vandesteene; daughter, Mary Krow and brother, Otis Morrow.
