YOUNG, Michael Lloyd, of Flint, age 81, passed away peacefully at home June 7, 2025, surrounded by love.
Born in 1944 to Lloyd and Helen (Warson) Young, he lived a full and hardworking life. He spent 39 years on the line “in the hole” at General Motors, where he earned the respect of his coworkers and provided steadfastly for his family. A lifelong fan of the Detroit Tigers and University of Michigan football, he was rarely seen without a ballgame playing in the background and a strong opinion about who would win!
He is survived by his loving wife, Barb; children Traci (Marc) DiCaprio of DeLand, Florida; Amy Hinton of Grand Blanc, Michigan; and Jeramiah (Marcy) Johns of Murrieta, California. He was a proud grandfather to Andrew, Aliah, Kaya, Paul, Alexis, Nicole, Trinity, and Jagger , and cherished his great-granddaughter, Calliope; his loving sisters, Bobbie (Geoff) of Grand Blanc, Michigan, Judy of Grand Blanc, Michigan, and Sherry (Kevin) of Grand Blanc, Michigan; along with many lifelong friends, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Michelle, granddaughter Christina, grandson Anthony, and dear friend, Argie Liverditis.
A man of loyalty, grit, and quiet strength, he will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to honor his memory by watching a Tigers game, telling a good story, or spending time with those you love — just as he would have wanted. |
