COUCHMAN, Dorothy Marie - Of Flint, age 85, died Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at her residence.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10am Monday, August 9, 2021 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, G3139 Hogarth Avenue, Flint,
Father Anthony Strouse officiating.
Burial in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Visitation 2-8pm Sunday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Visitation 9am Monday at church until the time of the Mass.
Dorothy was born in Flint, Michigan on August 5, 1935, the daughter of the late Andrew and Angeline (Hickey) Getcy. She married William Couchman on November 3, 1956 and he preceded her in death on February 18, 2001. She attended Holy Redeemer Catholic Church and St. Pius X Catholic Church. Dorothy’s love for her family was unmeasurable. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. All the memories that were made with her will forever live in the hearts of her family.
Surviving are children, Sue Prieur; William (Kim) Couchman, Jan Edwards, and Kim (Scot) Putney;
Grandchildren, Jennifer Witten, Amy (Kris) Kordyzon, Krista (Eric) Weaver, Joseph (Katie) Prieur, William (Jennifer) Edwards, William Couchman, Danielle (Tyler) Hardisty, Raymond (Lisa) Reaves, Adam Edwards, Ally Putney, Jessica Putney;
And 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by daughter, Tammy (Couchman) Reaves, sister, Rita Raleigh, brother, Andrew “Sonny” Getcy, and sons-in-law, Jerry Prieur and Robert Edwards.
A special heartfelt thank you to our hospice nurse Tom, for his wonderful loving care and as well to our mom’s caregivers, Sherry, Deanne and Sylvia.
