Claire (Jones) Dayton passed away at Tranquility Estates in Grand Blanc, on Saturday, August 26 at the age of 72.
Claire lived in Flint, Michigan after moving back from Pacific Grove California in 2021. She enjoyed her new Michigan residency at Sylvester Manor in downtown Flint, with a wonderful community of loving Sylvester friends.
Before moving back to her birth state of Michigan, Claire lived in Pacific Grove, California enjoying all the blessings of the Pacific Grove-Monterey Bay area. She worked as a Nurse for the Monterey V.A. Clinic, a state-of-the-art model for Veteran Care. She was loved by co-workers and patients alike for her fierce diligence and excellent nursing care.
Claire leaves behind, devoted friends and relatives that cherish their times with her in good humor and love. To know Claire was to laugh with Claire. There are plenty of stories to bring tears of laugher.
After retiring and moving back to Michigan, Claire reunited with her XAE college sorority sisters. Volunteering to share good deeds in the community became her passion.
She is preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Jones and mother, Sandie Jones Miller of Grand Blanc.
Surviving is, sister Pam Bennett (Bob) of Grand Blanc, brothers Kenneth (Sally) of Ohio and Harold (Allison) of Nevada as well as many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews.
Close friends, Cathie Jonakin of Boise, Idaho and Ann Keillor of Lapeer, Mi provided tremendous love and support in her life journey.
A special thank you to the Tranquility Staff along with Hospice and especially Barbara Armstrong for comfort and aid during a fast and furious journey thru cancer.
The outstanding compassion and guidance for the end-of-life journey from “Posse Girlfriend” and professional Pam Rinoldo-Dikos was invaluable.
Claire will be truly missed by so many whose lives she graced with advice and love (Stay Hydrated!)
A Memorial Mass for Claire will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2023, at 10:00AM at Holy Family Catholic Church - 11804 S. Saginaw Street, Grand Blanc, Michigan, with visitation at 9:30AM. Following the mass, there will be a luncheon and gathering from 12:00PM to 3:00PM at BD's Mongolian BBQ & Grill - 4205 Miller Road, Flint, Michigan. Please join us in celebrating the memories and joy Claire brought to us!
