MIERTA, Rosa Delores (Auten) – of Flint, MI, age 96, went home to be with her Savior on Saturday, December 26, 2020. Private Interment took place in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. A Family Memorial Service will be held on a later date.
Rosa was born June 24, 1924 to Frank and Nettie (Oaks) Auten in Ortonville, MI. She married Matthew “Mac” Michael Mierta, Sr. on October 6, 1945 in Fenton, MI and he preceded her in death in 1992. Rosa was a long-standing member of Emmanuel Bap-tist Church on Richfield Road in Flint, MI. She served faithfully in the nursery ministry for many years. Rosa loved gardening, sewing, cross stitch and worked tirelessly on many projects that she would share with her family and friends. She loved to visit with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Rosa would always make cook-ies, awesome pies and other delicious treats when they came to see her.
Rosa is survived by her three sons, Matthew (Susan) Mierta, Jr. of Kenosha, WI, Thomas (Emma) Mierta of Davison, MI and Russell Mierta of Marysville, OH; 9 grand-children; 19 great-grandchildren and two more on the way; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Nettie Auten; husband, Mac Mierta; three brothers, Edgar Auten, Don Auten and Leonard Auten.
