HAWK, Shirley Ann – Of Flint, age 89, died Monday, December 2, 2024 at her residence.
Funeral service will be held 1:30pm Monday, December 9, 2024 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
Visitation 2-6pm Sunday at the funeral home.
Shirley was born in Flint, Michigan on May 18, 1935, the daughter of the late Harrison and Winnie Estes, and was a resident of Flint all of her life.
She married Delbert “Dub” Hawk on November 28, 1953 and he preceded her in death on October 18, 2004.
She graduated from Mandeville High School in 1953.
She was a member of Fenton Road Baptist Church.
Mrs. Hawk was employed by Carman-Ainsworth School District
for 23 years, retiring in 1992.
Surviving are her son, Ronald (Sally);
Adopted son, James;
grandchildren, Veronica and Jodie;
great-grandchildren, Juanita, Alivia and Joshua;
great-great-granddaughter, Esmeray;
sister, Martha Kinder;
many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandson, Ryan Hawk, brothers, Jim, Harrison Jr., Donald and Wayne Estes.
