Myrna Louise Hendricks, age 84, passed away peacefully in her home on March 7, 2026. Myrna was born on June 27, 1941. She grew up in Fenton on First Street and spoke often of a wonderful childhood with her friends around the block. She graduated from Fenton High School in 1959. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She married Bruce Hendricks on October 8, 1960. Myrna is survived by Bruce, her husband of 65 years; sons, Alan, Greg, Tony, and Brian; grandchildren, Alison, Amanda, Zackery, and Hannah; sister in laws, Norma and MaryAnn; and many loved nephews and nieces. She lived in Fenton until 2000 when she and Bruce retired to Millersburg, MI. They were members of the Millersburg Methodist Church and enjoyed the home they built on Upper Barnhart Lake. She loved when family and friends came to visit for a few days and held family camping reunions at their house. They moved back to Fenton in 2022. Myrna had a love for animals. She had numerous dogs and cats throughout her life, breeding toy poodles with her dog Gidget, nursing her cat Murphy from an owl attack, holding her dog Bailey, and many others between. Myrna had many talents. She played the saxophone in high school, she loved gardening flowers and vegetables, and always had a big garden at their house on Ray Road in Fenton. She was a member of the Open Gate Garden Club in Fenton, where she made dear friends. She was skilled at sewing and other crafts including basket weaving and made many beautiful, high quality baskets. Myrna was a homemaker when her boys were young, then worked for Fenton Ambulance, Hi-Stat, and VG’s deli department where she made more great friends. She also showed a love of travel with her husband and children, and together they enjoyed camping and exploring destinations across the United States in their fifth wheel. Myrna is preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Dorothy Griswold; sister, Bev; brothers, Don and Bill; mother in law Jennie; and sister in law, Shirley. She cherished time spent with family and friends and will be remembered for her warmth, creativity, and kind spirit. Myrna’s presence brought joy to those around her and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at the Temrowski Family Funeral Home, 500 Main Street in Fenton, from Noon until the time of her Service at 2pm. |
