Thomas Bertram Rowden of Davison, age 90, died Wednesday December 6, 2023 at Hampton Manor, Burton. Honoring his wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday December 21, 2023 at Hansen Funeral Home Groves Chapel, Downtown Davison; Pastor Nathan Rasor officiating with private burial on the family plot in Davison Cemetery. Family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 11:00 am Thursday until time of services. Those desiring may make contributions in Thomas’s memory to Carriage Town Ministries.
Thomas was born in Lapeer Michigan on March 24, 1933 the son of the late: Walter and Elsie Ann (Rosine) Rowden and had resided in the Davison area for over fifty years. Answering the call of his country Tom proudly served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. He was joined in marriage to Leila Mae Brown on June 3, 1960 in Lapeer, Michigan and she preceded him in death on July 29, 2010.
Tom loved to spend his summers in Lake City Michigan and vacation in New Port Ritchey Florida in the winters. He always enjoyed a family game of cards and in his early years loved to golf. He was a member of Davison Eagles #3589, and Davison VFW Post 4089. Thomas had been employed by the State of Michigan until his retirement in 1993.
Tom is survived by daughters: Cathy (Rob) Decker, and Debbie (Mark) Ratza. He also leaves his loving grandchildren: Alicia (Gabe) Reyes, Aaron Ratza, Kami (Joshua) Galloway, Kylie Decker, and great granddaughter Mila Reyes. He also leaves brother-in-law Bob Konieczka, and a host of extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by brothers: Gilbert, Walter, Jack, Robert, Albert, and sister Elsie Ann.
