ZOFCHAK, Paul - age 92, of Swartz Creek, died Sunday, November 8, 2020. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 AM Friday, November 13, 2020 at St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church, 2333 Elms Rd., Flushing with the Very Rev. James Batcha celebrant. Interment will follow at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be held 9 AM - 10 AM Friday at the church. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church, 2333 Elms Rd., Flushing. Mr. Zofchak was born March 5, 1928 in Flint, the son of Michael and Elizabeth (Lazar) Zofchak. He was a 1947 graduate of Flint Northern High School where he was a member of the State Championship Basketball Team and inducted into the Greater Flint Sports Hall of Fame. Paul was a veteran of the U.S. Army and married Marion B. Wargo on November 3, 1956 in Flint. He retired from GM Buick in 1991 after 43 years as a Machine Operator. Paul was a very active life-long member of St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church and U.A.W. Local 599. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing and the Men's Group at St. Michael Byzantine Church. Surviving are: wife, Marion of Swartz Creek; five children, Theodore (Phyllis) Zofchak of Flushing, Mary Theresa (Joseph) Hurst of Burton, Carolyn Ann (Ralph) Wendt of Gaines, Michael Joseph (Rhonda) Zofchak of Flushing, Ann Elizabeth (Robert) Aman of Grand Haven; 11 grandchildren; 4 great-granddaughters; two sisters, Irene Jedlowski and Helen Zofchak of Flushing; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: his parents; and 10 siblings. Arrangements by Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, MI 48473.
