James W. Hawke, Jr. - age 88 of Fenton, Michigan, went to meet his heavenly Father September 5, 2023. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, September 14, 2023 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Visitation at the funeral home will be 12:00 PM until the 1:00 PM service time Thursday. Memorial Contributions in Jim’s memory would be appreciated to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
Jim was born August 24, 1935, in Cleveland, Ohio and later moved to Flint, Michigan. Jim married Carol Jean LaFave on June 3, 1978, and for 45 years resided in Fenton. He was a machinist with Michigan products, as well as an ordained Minister and Hospice Chaplain. Jim proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps. There was no other man like Jim Hawke. He was a father, husband, grandfather (Papa), minister, and so much more. His passion was for God and his family. He inspired people with his stories, art, music, and his faith (1 Peter 4:10).
Jim is survived by his wife, Carol; children, Josie, Ron, Dianne, Gary, Todd, Renee, and Stephanie; 25 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, siblings; and a grandson. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com |
