THOMPSON, James – of Otter Lake, MI, age 87, passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2020. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
James was born in Flushing, MI on January 18, 1933, son of the late Fred and Allie (McLain) Thompson.
James is survived by daughters, Laurie M. (Bill) Vamos and Lisa M. Thornburg; daughter-in-law, Nancy Thompson; 4 grandchildren, Danielle (Brandon) Wescott, Eric (Consuelo) Vamos, Brian Vamos and Simon Thornburg; 6 great-grandchildren; siblings, Fred (Pat) Thompson and Joan (Art) Pierce; special niece, Candee Seconder and many other loving family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Sherry; son, Daniel J. Thompson; son-in-law, Richie Thornburg; sister, Greta (Jim) Thompson.
James retired from AC Spark Plug after more than 40 years of service. He was an expert woodworker, and loved spending time in his workshop. James loved to travel, but most of all, loved his family.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful and caring ladies that work at Angel Manor in Clio, MI.
