SASS, Douglas – Of Flint, age 93, died Friday, February 25, 2022 at McLaren-Flint.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Reverend Eric Sass officiating.
Burial in Flint Memorial Park.
Contributions may be made to Leader Dogs For the Blind.
Visitation 5 pm. – 7 p.m. Monday and 12 p.m. Tuesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Douglas was born in Pinconning, Michigan on August 30, 1928.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
On September 10, 1966 he married Elaine Harris.
He was a member of the Genesee Lion’s Club and Knights of Pythias.
Mr. Sass drove a bus for the Kearsley Community School District.
He enjoyed fishing, camping and hunting.
He owned and operated Addressing & Printing for over 40 years.
Surviving are wife, Elaine;
sons, Mark (Pam) Sass, Adam Sass and Eric (Kelly) Sass;
4 grandchildren, Philip (Amanda) Sass, Amos Sass, Sylest (Justin), June and Joseph Sass;
2 great-grandchildren, Nevaeh and Shane.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Marion Nelson; grandparents, Charles and Edith Sass.
