Gerald R. Sweet, age 88, of Fostoria, MI, passed away Monday, February 3, 2020 at Covenant Health Care Cooper in Saginaw, MI.
He was born June 10, 1931 in Detroit, MI to Richard C. and Della (Skinner) Sweet. Gerald married Alice Sweet on June 30, 1952 in Detroit, MI. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Gerald worked as a Pattern Maker for GM and retired in 1994 after 30 years of service. He was a member of the Starcraft Camper Club and enjoyed camping, traveling, cars and Horses.
He is survived by his sons, Kenneth (Kimberly) Sweet of Highland, MI and Gregory Sweet of Fostoria, MI; six grandchildren, Lauren Sweet, Alexander Sweet, Dylan Sweet, Jennifer Sweet, Rachel Martin and David Biondo; and two great grandchildren.
Gerald was preceded in death by his wife, Alice in 2016; daughter, Carolyn Biondo; sister, Marilyn Henderson; and brother Charles Sweet.
The Family will receive visitors from 2-5 PM on Thursday, February 6, 2020 at the Avram Funeral Home.
Burial will till take place at Watertown Township Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Family Discretionary Fund.
