Leon Norman Fox was born March 11, 1932 in Fowler, MI a son of Clemens and Martha (Motz) Fox. One of nine children, Lee and his siblings shared a special bond and fostered a unique appreciation for family above all. On September 6, 1958 he married Susanne M. Lynam, the “queen” of his heart. It took some convincing, she only agreed to the date after knowing he played basketball for MSU. As a college athlete, high school basketball coach and teacher for 20 years, “sports fan” does not really do him justice. One of his greatest passions was cheering on MSU basketball, MSU football and Tigers baseball with family and friends. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing with his son and grandchildren. Leon was also a successful business man, ensuring long term financial security for so many grateful clients. He was always happiest when surrounded by his friends and family. His faith was a priority he passed on to many.

Those who knew Lee well know he set a high bar for community service. He routinely put his own needs aside for the needs of others and was a flesh and blood representation of the Golden Rule. He was a proud veteran of Korea, Knight of Columbus and thoroughly active member of St. Joseph’s Parish.

Leon is survived by his children, Martha "Marty" (Gregory) Farrand of Howell, and Norman (Gail) Fox of Grand Blanc; grandchildren, Rachel Lee Zonca, Cara (Edward) Murray, Hannah Fox, Alysse (Nicholas) Griffith and Benjamin Farrand; great grandchildren, Henrik Griffith, Maeve Murray and Kasten Griffith; brothers, George (Theresa) Fox and David (Rose) Fox; sisters, Ruth Lucas and Kathy Kramer; sisters-in-law, Ernestine Fox and Margaret (Michael) Stanley; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, and greatest love Susanne Fox.

Memorial Contributions in Leon's name are suggested to Knights of Columbus Council #2659 of Howell. Online condolences may be sent at www.watkinsfuneralhomes.com.
