Robert Lee Hollenbeck of Davison, age 93, died Thursday September 19, 2024 at Stonegate Health Campus, Lapeer. Honoring his wishes cremation has taken place. A Memorial Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday September 28, 2024 at the Davison Missionary Church 1481 N. Gale Rd. Davison. Rev. Al Yerke officiating: with private burial at Flint Memorial Park at a later date. Family will receive visitors one hour prior
to services at the church. Those desiring may make contributions in Robert’s memory to the Davison Missionary Church or Carriage Town Mission.
Robert was born in Flint Michigan on July 28, 1931 the son of the late: Lee and Alma (Duncan) Hollenbeck and has resided in Davison since 1967. He was joined in marriage to Ilene Rose Gohl on July 7, 1951 in Alpena Michigan and she preceded him in death on October 31, 2017. Robert was a member of Davison Missionary Church, and had served as a trustee, usher, and volunteer for many church events. Robert was employed by General
Motors Buick Division for over forty-one years starting as a crane operator and later as an
electrician, retiring in 1992. In his younger years Robert played softball and later became an
avid bowler and golfer. After retirement he and Ilene did much traveling and spent 25 winters in Lakeland Florida. He also was an active member of the Davison Senior Center.
Surviving are sons; David W. and wife Barbara Hollenbeck, and William D. and wife Kathy
Hollenbeck. He also leaves his six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and three great
great grandchildren. His surviving siblings: Bonnie Freeman, Barry Hollenbeck, Bruce
(Virginia) Hollenbeck, Burt Hollenbeck, and a host of extended family and friends. He is
preceded in death by daughters, Sharon L. Preston, Robyn G. Mitchell, and siblings William
and Bella.
