EDWARDS, Larry Ernest Sr. - Of Flint Township, age 73, passed away Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Ascension Genesys Hospital.
Funeral service will be held 5pm Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery.
Visitation 12Noon-4pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
Larry was born April 8, 1948 in Flint Michigan to parents Clarence and Esther Edwards (Debus). He attended Ainsworth High School before joining the Army where he was in the Second Armored Calvary. While in the service he married the love of his life, Beverly Edwards, on November 22, 1968 in Flint at Farnumwood Presbyterian Church. They had his only son, Larry Edwards Jr.
Larry worked over 30 years at General Motors before he began his very active retirement where he was active in many organizations, including UAW Local #651 retirees and his beloved Vietnam Veterans Association, which was one of his biggest passions in life! Larry enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, day trips to Port Huron, small family vacations and of course watching the tigers at home.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father and leaves behind his wife Beverly, his son Larry Jr. daughter in law Paula and Grandsons Joshua and Derek.
