REDINGER, RALPH – Age 90, died Sunday, January 28, 2024 at Tranquility of Grand Blanc, surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, February 2, 2024
at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Brian Willingham, from Bristol United Methodist Church officiating.
Burial in Greenwood Cemetery in Fowlerville, Michigan.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. Friday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Ralph was born in Fowlerville, Michigan on May 13, 1933, the son of the late Wayne and Margaret (Goodrich) Redinger.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He graduated from MSU and then GMI, where he earned his degree in Mechanical Engineering. He then went to work for Buick Motor Division until his retirement,
He married his high school sweetheart, Bonnie Glover and they were married for 52 years. She preceded him in death on September 22, 2004.
On August 12, 2006, he married Sherry Avery at Bristol United Methodist Church and she preceded him in death on September 14, 2022.
He was an avid golfer and played until he was 88 and he loved playing cards.
He and his wife, Sherry traveled extensively, spending winters in Davenport, Florida, where they had many friends.
Mr. Redinger was also a Mason with the Fowlerville Lodge #164
Surviving are 3 step-daughters, Theresa Phelps and fiance' Mark Conroy,
Dalette Miron and
Tina (Scott) Hall;
5 grandchildren, Justin Lackney, Christopher Lackney, Joshua Rathbun, Jacob (Caroline) Rathbun and Nicole (Devin) Soltow;
13 great-grandchildren;
nieces and nephews, Mike (Sidney) Risk, Sharon Fluke, Scott (Lynn) Redinger, Cheryl Redinger and several great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife; brother, Junior Lee Redinger and sister, Lolabell Risk; sons-in-law, Joe "Supersize" Miron and Dan Phelps.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Bristol United Methodist Church, 5285 Van Slyke Road, Flint 48507.
